Raw food diet
July 31, 2009
Rawism is not exactly a diet; it is more world view, ideology, alternative to progress. They are people which assert that our far ancestors ate only raw vegetables, eggs, meat and were ostensibly healthy. Rawism denies necessity of thermal processing of food as it destroys it useful properties. As well as in any serious business, there are a lot of subtleties in rawism. So, some of raw foodist suppose thermal processing of vegetables – that can irritate a stomach in a row kind (for example, onions scalding). Others eat bread is a product not raw, but necessary for us. Strict raw foodists – eat vegetables only, fruit, juice from them, nuts, cereals and seeds of oil cultures, and try not to mix them.

It is considered that Dr Bircher – Benner was the main developer of strict raw food diet
by creating in the 1890s an ideal breakfast for his patients in Zurich clinic – Bircher Muesli – the sweet dish combines fruits, nuts and oats.
The original recipe is the follow:
1 teaspoon of porridge oats fill in 3 teaspoons of cold water and leave overnight. In the morning add a grated apple, 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and milk also add 1 teaspoon of grated hazelnuts. By your taste you can add raisin, berries, sesame or pumpkin seeds to fill with a yoghurt and honey mix.
Naturally, dairy products, as well as eggs, meat and fish, remain a stumbling-block – not only for vegetarians, but also for raw foodist. Whether to eat a meat, fish, eggs, sour cream – everyone decides for himself, the main thing is a benefit, not harm.
Beginning from small steps, for example, from refusal of boiled, fried, stewed vegetables, both of compotes, or of jam and chocolate, the person gradually starts to hear a voice of the organism which prompts, what desire is only a whim of the indulged stomach and what is necessity.
There are a lot of recipes for row foodists. The main principle of it is the food must be live, not dead. For example, salad: 2-3 red sweet pepper, a small bunch of sorrel, a handful of walnuts .Everything cut, mix up with parsley, salt- pepper by taste and add pair table spoons of unrefined vegetable oil and squeezed garlic .
In the same way it is possible to prepare meat, fish and milk. Meat is such as Carpaccio, fish is such as sashimi and non-pasteurized/non-homogenized dairy products, such as raw milk, rawmilk cheese, and raw milk yogurt.
